Our Team
Tahreem Malik, Co-President
Electrical Engineering, Level III
In 2020, I had the opportunity to engage in the Nexus Case Competition, an experience that served to be a highlight within my extracurricular pursuits. This experience piqued my interest in renewable energy and power generation. I joined the MEA team to deepen my involvement in this field and connect with like minded individuals and together we can contribute to this evolving industry. The ultimate aim of the MEA is to inspire students to seize control of their energy future.
Samantha Bozzer, Vice President Graphics
Civil Engineering, Level III
Even before I began my journey in post-secondary education I knew I wanted to build my future career around sustainable development. I began by pursuing an interdisciplinary minor in sustainability alongside my undergraduate degree and quickly realized I wanted to find ways to be more involved in the domain. The McMaster Energy Association was the perfect fit, as it allows me to learn about sustainable energy projects while also being able to apply my knowledge. My ultimate goal on this team is to create graphics that draw people to learn about the power of sustainable energy.
Christina Chittilapilly, Co Vice President Graphics
Chemical and Bioengineering, Level III
As a Chemical and Bioengineering student, my passion lies in exploring novel approaches to designing sustainable solutions. This passion aligns perfectly with MEA's commitment to empowering students to take action and contribute to a cleaner and smarter energy future. Within MEA, I collaborate with like-minded individuals who share a dedication to making a meaningful impact on our environment. My role as VP Graphics Design allows me to channel my creativity towards visually communicating our collective mission. Our hope resides not just in the possibilities of tomorrow but in the actions we take today!
Sajal Majid, Co Vice President Events
Earth and Environment , Level V
I’ve maintained a deep interest in environmental protection since elementary school, and the concept of sustainability has consistently fascinated me throughout my education. As an Earth and Environmental Science student, I am dedicated to being a positive advocate for the environment and for sustainable practices. When planning events for MEA, I aim to provide myself and fellow students from diverse academic backgrounds with valuable opportunities to explore and contribute to these fields. This involves engaging in meaningful discussions, collaborating with like-minded individuals, and actively participating in initiatives such as Energy Week, all geared towards promoting a greener and more sustainable future.
Khawja Labib, Vice President Education
Computer Engineering, Level III
My main interests are finding a sustainable energy solution and education, which I can do as the Vice President of Education at the McMaster Energy Association. My interest in education stems from my childhood in Bangladesh. Growing up, I witnessed the enormous difficulties that a society faces as a result of a lack of education. As a result, creating educational opportunities has been one of my most important personal goals. MEA enables me to pursue this goal while being surrounded by members who share my enthusiasm.
Ayush Patel, Case Competition Coordinator
Mechatronics Engineering, Level III
There are two things which I believe have the great potential for innovation and growth: energy and transportation. Similar to how ChatGPT has transformed the way we perceive interactions with computers and learning, I believe changing how we move from A to B and how we store and use energy can be game-changing. This transformation can occur through various means, such as smart infrastructure, diverse energy sources and electric mobility. I am eager to learn more at MEA!
Ryan Aronson, Vice President Communications
Life Sciences, Level IV
As a Life Sciences student pursuing a double minor in Environmental Science and Sustainability, my passion lies in unravelling solutions for a sustainable future. Regardless of one's educational background, everyone can contribute to forging a resilient coexistence between humanity and the natural environment. Joining the McMaster Energy Association marks the initial step in my journey to help create a sustainable world. I am proud to participate in a club dedicated to educating and raising awareness about energy-related matters. I am so excited about everything MEA has to offer and believe this experience will follow me everywhere.
