Energy Conference
Featuring guest speaker David Inkley, the Vice President of Engineering and Development at Hamilton Community Enterprises who shared his insights on Energy Harvesting, and Matthew Mourish from Atura Power who presented on Hydrogen Energy. The winners of the Nexus Energy Case Competition were announced, and they presented their solutions to the student body.
DIY Solar Mason Jar Lights Workshop
DIY Lights in collaboration with Engineers without Borders was a free event welcoming everyone to design mason jars with led lights. Everyone involved had a great time and it provided a networking opportunity while doing a relaxing activity
Nexus Energy Case Competition
In Ontario, gasoline prices reached record highs. Canadians use fuel for various purposes, including transportation, electricity, heating, and cooking. Students were asked: Given our reliance on fuels, what steps can we take to reduce our reliance on fuel? Participants presented their solutions to judges and had the opportunity to win cash prizes and their works published by URNCST.
Nuclear at MAC
The Nuclear at MAC event, a collaboration with the North American Young generation in Nuclear club at McMaster. This event included a tour of the McMaster nuclear reactor, hot cells, and tandem accelerator, an in-person speaker presentation, and the day was concluded with a trivia night hosted at the phoenix restaurant.
